About us:

The Statesville Model Fliers(SMF) are a group of modelers who enjoy building and flying RC aircraft. Just about all types of RC model aircraft are flown in our club: sport, aerobatic, scale, pattern, electric, helicopters, etc.

The club is more than 50 members strong and many can usually be found at the club field on weekends. The SMF welcome all and offer a family friendly environment for the RC enthusiast.

You don't have your RC wings yet? The SMF also offers flight instruction for aspiring RC pilots. We can take you from your first flight all the way through to solo and sign-off. Just pay us a visit, give us a call or e-mail to learn more.

The SMF club is chartered with the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). Charter # 690. The AMA is a national organization which promotes model aviation and provides valuable resources to its members. The number one benefit being Liability Insurance. Please visit the AMA's website or talk with a club member to learn more. Club members are required to be members of the AMA.
